When you want to cut through the wind and keep out a little light rain, this softshell jacket will be perfect.
This jacket has water-resistant, breathable fabrics with some stretch to give you a comfortable fit. The softshell is great because it's a little lighter and more packable than a rain jacket. It can provide extra warmth and dryness while also allowing you to see more water vapor escape from inside the jersey while you sweat, and if it warms up during your ride, most jerseys will fit this in the center pocket when you want to take the jacket off... This jacket is more breathable than our rain jacket, but still provides some water resistance. But, long heavy rain exposure will eventually become uncomfortable, so there's a real spot in your closet for both a softshell jacket and a fully waterproof rain jacket.
This jacket has a comfortable fabric gripper around your wrist. This keeps things comfortably in place, and the softer feel of this fabric will be comfortable on your wrists.
The jacket has one pocket in the center of the back. Check out those photos!
As always, put the heaviest pocket item in the center pocket so that your jersey won't get pulled to the side.
If it is going to rain like crazy, check out our rain jacket!
Nate is modeling the small size in these photos. He could wear a medium, and it would be a generous club-fit. The small is comfy and snug for him at 187cm/6'2" and 75kg/165 lbs. This is Nate's preferred size, because he hates having extra material flapping around while riding fast. :)
